In 2019, it was my privilege to work as an intern at The Printing Museum in Houston. The work I did there included an update to their logo and new layouts for their brochures, including a membership brochure, a general brochure, and an education brochure, as well as new designs for business cards and stationary. In addition, two large banners were designed for the Comicpalooza convention at the George R. Brown convention center in Houston. This work helped move the museum forward after a devastating fire and was awarded the 2020 Graphic Excellence Award for Graphic Design by The Printing Industries of the Gulf Coast.
This is the update to the logo. The leadership at the museum wanted to use a CMYK color palette to create a more vibrant and youthful brand. The original logo consisted of the center black and white portion. Adding the cyan, magenta, and yellow bands around the outside was a simple yet dynamic way to accomplish this goal.
